Sleep Stories

Caden has had a hard time with illness the last few weeks. After the bug he got while we were in China he refused to eat for a few days. Then got an ear infection. Then got a rash from the Amoxicillin. Now, he's just tired from all the craziness! So tired, he's been asking for sleep!

Yesterday, after Bible Study (PWOC), Caden fell asleep in the car ride home. The ride was less than a 1/2 mile, and under 2 minutes and he was out! When I carried him into the house I tried to sit him on my hip and talk to him to wake him up because he had not had lunch. He wasn't having it. He stuck his tush out, and pushed against me to get his head on my shoulder to continue sleeping. Slept right through entering the house, changing his diaper, and woke up briefly when I took off his jacket. He stood up and looked at me and I asked him, "Caden, do you want to eat or do you want to sleep?" He signed "sleep" to me and walked over to his crib. Isn't that just precious!?! And he slept for 2 straight hours, which is a rare thing these days! And that's without lunch!

Today I picked him up from the CDC at 11:30. He seemed to be in a playful and alert mood so I thought we'd play for a bit before taking a nap. We headed to the living room and I sat down to take off my shoes and did the same with Caden. After taking off his shoes and jacket, he stood up, in the middle of the living room and signed "sleep." I asked him if he wanted to go to sleep, and he took off running down the hallway and went right to his crib. I picked him up to try and read a story thinking he was still too playful and not ready for his nap. After only ONE page, he climbed out of my lap, walked over to his crib, looked back at me and said/signed, "help" because he wanted me to help him get in his crib. I put him in, grabbed my camera and snapped a quick picture, then left my baby to sleep!

Awwww...bless his heart. I too want to just sleep for days. Im not sick just pooped! Im having trouble with Madison wanting to sleep in our room. She was sick about a week ago so I wanted her close by. I cant seem to get her back into her room. We would all sleep much better if she did . Any good ideas? She is 8 and just got a new set of bunkbeds I thought that would do the trick. Not.... hmmm enjoy your sleepy little man. Im sure as soon as he is feeling much better and re-charged you will long for those naps. Hope your holidays are sweet. He is at the perfect age for Christmas magic~

That's a priceless story and a precious picture. Even with the binkie in his mouth his eyes are shining
