Sippy Cup

Okay, I am back posting here a little bit because I forgot to update everyone on a new accomplishment for Caden! He can drink from a sippy cup! It started about a week ago (the 8th of March) and he was playing with the sippy (same as always b/c I let him play with it all the time in order to one day introduce it) and he started trying to put it in his mouth. So I helped him out and he drank from it... then I let go and he went to town on his own! He isn't good at it yet, but he's getting there! Now he is showing an interest in holding his own bottle... which is something we have intentionally NOT taught him. If he figures it out on his own, that is fine, but for us we want feeding time to be "business" and so we prefer to hold the bottle and encourage him to take a full bottle at the designated feeding time. We just don't want him walking around the house with a bottle, sipping on it for 2 hours... and also we don't want him to become attached to it... so that is our weird reasoning behind the whole not holding the bottle thing! All that said, we aren't going to prevent him from holding it...just not something we've been working on although he has figured it out on his own! :) Here are some pics of the sippy cup adventure!

So interestingly enough - we didn't teach Amelia to hold her bottle but she can do it - and she eats it just like we are doing it - all in one sitting. Daycare mentioned once that she is the only one who can do it... so I think she ends up doing it alot. Most days I feed her, but this morning, when she woke up early - it worked great. She was in her bouncy eating and I did my makeup. :)
