I'm sure the title to this post got your attention! It's really NOT the way I'm sure you're thinking of it though! I just wanted to get your attention.
A few brief stories I want to remember and share:
Yesterday in the car, as I was stopped at a light, I started digging in my diaper bag for my chapstick. Caden saw my digging and though that maybe I was getting out something he might like (cookies, raisins, etc) so in the back seat I hear him say WEEwe, WEEwe (emphasis on the first Wee). I look back and he is signing "please." So, his new word is please, pronounced Weewe.
A few minutes later a big, yellow bus drove by our car and Caden said, "Beep, beep, beep." He loves that song!
One of the things we've been working on with Caden is pointing. He just doesn't point. And, although he says all kinds of other words, Mama and Dada are not used consistently and he does not call out to us with those words. He calls out for help, or food, but not for Mom or Dad. So, we've been frantically pointing to everything lately to try and get him caught up on this skill. We will say Mama and John will point to me, and I will point to myself. Same with Dada.
This morning Caden was sitting in his high chair saying Dada, but this time HE POINTED!!! The only thing is that he pointed to the wrong thing. He pointed to himself...
Of course he was only copying us... we point to ourselves when we say Mama and Dada... do you think we've confused him forever!?!
