I've mentioned before how Caden is just not interested in mimicking/copying me. Ever since he was an itty-bitty newborn I would make silly faces at him and wait with anticipation for him to try to copy my facial expressions and he never would. Time went by and I knew at "this age" he was supposed to be copying the sounds I make.... but he never did.
Well, on Friday I was sitting in the car at John's work waiting for him and Caden was in the back seat of the car looking at himself in the mirror and talking up a storm. He does this often. He especially likes to do it in the car where he can see himself in the mirror. I pulled out my little "point-and-shoot" camera and flipped the dial to Video Mode and started filming my cute little guy and all his babbles. About 2 minutes and 30 seconds in to the video I decided to try and get Caden to say something else other than 'Daaaa, da, da" so I prompted him with "Mmmmmaaa, Ma." I was not expecting a response. Why would I since he is 10 months old and has never participated in this game before.... but to my surprise, he purses his little lips together and says, "Mmmmmma, ma!"
Here is the video clip. You have to listen to 2 minutes and 30 seconds of babbles before he says mama, though.
If you are impatient and can't wait for 2 minutes and 30 seconds to hear my sweet little man's MaMa sound, then try this video. This was Saturday (day 2) and I was (again) waiting on John while he was getting his hair cut. So out came the little camera and my best attempts to get more Mama's on film. Caden obliged within the first 5 seconds of this clip!!!! The rest of it I try to get him to do it again...and he doesn't. He's just too distracted! Enjoy!

TOO CUTE!!!!! I love seeing this...he's precious!! YAY...mama!
My favorite part in the first video is when you get so excited and say, "This is the first time he has ever copied!" We get so excited over the things they do!
His "mama" is getting pretty clear in that second video.
Sweet boy!
So sweet! That makes any mama proud, even I was getting teary! He's such a fun baby boy with loads of boy energy :)
Congrat's He did it! I know that is one of the best feelings in the world. You just want to share it with everyone and want them to think it's as great as you do (smile). I could not wait for the day my little one said Momma. Now when they say it ... well it's just not as much fun. So neat that you were able to catch it. Susie H
