Those of you who know me know that I love to take pictures. Over the past few years photography has become not only a hobby, but somewhat of a passion of mine. I haven't had near as many opportunities to practice this new passion and to grow as I would have liked, but having a baby of my own has opened up a whole new door for me! I take pictures of Caden all the time! I'm still using just my "plain Jane" kit lens on my wonderful Canon EOS 30D! I'm in the market for a new lens if ANYONE out there has any recommendations! (Is there anyone out there reading my blogs??).
On top of learning my new camera I've also become a photoshop junkie! I don't like to alter pictures too much. Instead I like using photoshop to clean up all of my many (many) imperfections! I smooth out the backgrounds sometimes and tweak the lighting if it needs it.
Everything I do in photography and photoshop is pretty much self-taught (or I learn it from my Sister-in-Law and photographer, Misty Rae). Well, lately I've been determined to learn how to work with layers and make a collage! I was so excited with how this turned out. It reminds me of the Lion King!

I really like our 2nd lens, I think its 50mm but I'd have to check. I love the pictures with her in focus and anything not at that depth starts to fuzz out.
thanks kelly! I was/am looking at a 50mm lens by canon. It isn't an "l" series though b/c I can't afford those! I have a bigger "zoom" lens that gives the "blurred" effect, but I have to be so far away to use it! :) When you get a chance, let me know what lens ya'll have! I'm curious! Now, let me go see if I can find a way to link your blog... hmmmm!

Hi Amanda, I don't remember how I came to find your blog, but I found your myspace acct through a lot of my zta friends. It was so interesting w/ the baby stuff and your big move, I've just kept up! I think your husband is a fiji, so is mine! And I'm a zta from una..graduated in 97'. And I have a little boy (2). So, there are a few things we have in common! Anyway, I've really enjoyed reading your blog! It's so interesting seeing the differences in countries! And, your photography is great!! OK, so now I'm no longer a "blog stalker" , I'm an official "blog reader" :-) LOL

Hello...I can't remember how I was referred to your blog but I have been wanting to tell you what a talented photographer I think you are. You have a special skill for capturing expressions and creating lovely mother/child, father/child photos. Your son is adorable. Best wishes to you as you continue your adventure abroad.
