Back to Korea

John left for Korea on Sunday, July 29th. It was such a sad day for us all. I was a basket case having to deal with that on top of the postpartum hormones.

John got Caden dressed in his cute little "prison stripe" outfit and loaded in his carseat and we headed out to the airport. We have had so many wonderful reunions at airports, and also so many sad goodbyes. They gave Caden and I a gate pass to see John back through security and on to his plane. We anticipated having about 45 minutes or more to hang out at the gate before saying goodbye, but when we arrived at the gate they had already started boarding.

John took Caden out of the carseat to say goodbye and wouldn't you know it our little boy didn't want his Daddy to go. He let him know that by leaking through his diaper right on his Daddy's lap! Maybe it was God's way of giving us something to laugh about one more time. I snapped a quick picture to capture the memory, and then John hugged and kissed us both and went to board his plane. The first day is always the hardest, and this time was no different than any other time we've said goodbye. But every day has gotten better and Caden and I have adjusted now and are anxiously awaiting the day we will all be reunited.
